I am Aaron Keller, a lifelong Alsace township resident, property owner and taxpayer. I'm mostly concerned with the current trajectory of the curriculum, the utter disregard for our children's well-being emotionally and physically as well as the general lack of inculcating practical applications that will be more important upon graduating than most of what is being taught now.
The removal of standardized testing, critical racist theory, common core curriculum, governmental health mandates impacting our children adversely are several items that need to be eliminated!
Because my particular skill set is rooted in agriculture, specifically in dairy farm service, I feel I am very well versed in practical problem solving. This can be utilized in many other facets of life. Due to my love of this country, I have been an avid student of the founding of this country. That has provided me with a more complete understanding of the role of limited government and a firm belief in the doctrine of the lesser magistrate. I feel confident that my contribution is vital to future generations of OVSD graduates.
Although my participation in community organizations is somewhat limited, I attribute that to working as a part time farmer with livestock and other farming and groundskeeping duties, I also work a full time job as an emergency on-call dairy farm equipment service technician.
I recognize that over 90% of the current Oley Valley school board members have no children enrolled in our schools, while I have 2 children currently enrolled. It is their education that is a vital concern to me.
My son's attending Oley Valley schools and my family's deep rooted history in Alsace township dating from the early 1900's assures that my dedication is sincere.
